This page is a record of any noteworthy places we have stayed that may have excelled at making us feel welcome or if they have gone out of their way in some way with maybe excellent food, rooms or service.

First up is a B&B in Rutland. We stayed here in 2009 and can say that it was excellent in all senses. The lady of the house is Ann and with all respect is a lady with a lot to offer...particularly if you love food! Ann cooks a very good breakfast and nothing is to much trouble. We had sausages from their own pigs, green gage plums from the garden amongst other culinary delights. Ann quite clearly loves to cook and the food is made of good quality ingredients. I almost struggle to let this B&B be known as I am afraid it may be booked when we would stay! They have a dog named Archie and he is a little star in his own right. I cannot praise this place enough as the whole family made us feel very welcome....did I mention the superb food?

Next is a B&B in Seahouses, Northumberland which again was a very good place indeed. Ne Oublie House is looked after by the very welcoming Sandra. The great thing about this B&B is the fact that the room is actually a converted double garage detached from the house so you feel as though you are no trouble to anybody and not disturbing anybody. Breakfast is served in their conservatory. Again food was excellent with a good selection of food which should keep most people happy. This B&B is ideally situated for a trip to the Farne isles which we did in 2008.
